Obituary of Sister Barbara Mckee

The following is the obituary of my Mama, Sister Barbara Mckee as it was done for the Chapel Hill Funeral Home, Anniston, AL.

IN LOVING MEMORY

Barbara J Mckee

July 26, 1930 - May 12, 2025

Barbara Joyce McKee, age 94, of Anniston, Alabama passed away on Monday, May 12, 2025 at Autumn Cove. A graveside service will be Wednesday, May 14, 2025 at 1 PM at Anniston Memorial Gardens with Elder Gary Cordes officiating.

Mrs. McKee is survived by her three sons, Jack (Ann) Burgess, Dennis (Sheila) Burgess and Brett (Marie) McKee; grandchildren; Cody Burgess, Star Somers (Shelton), Seth Burgess (Shannon), Gus McKee, Marielle McKee, Samantha McKee, Steve McKee and granddaughter-in-law, Nena Parks. Survivors also include her great-grandchildren; Aspen Burgess, Jazlyn Burgess, Cara Burgess, Alannah Burgess, Gracie Somers, Ava Somers, Banks Burgess, Mara Burgess and several nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be family and friends.

Barbara is preceded in death by her husband; Claude T. McKee, parents; Benjamin and Edel Rogers, five sisters; Mildred, Evelyn, Margaret, Claudette and Gwenette, three brothers; Benjamin Jr., Robert, and Billy, and Grandson; Cable Burgess.

Barbara was a member of Mt. Joy Primitive Baptist Church in Blount County, Alabama.

The family would like to give thanks to the nurses at Autumn Cove and Gentiva Hospice with special thanks to Nurse Katie Cova.
